EASA, Patrick Ky replies to EurECCA on preventive health measures against COVID-19

EASA responds to EurECCA’s request to oblige all civil aviation authorities to ensure that all airlines apply AT LEAST minimum health measures to avoid an upsurge of COVID-19 in the civil aviation sector.

EurECCA wrote to EASA requesting them for their help in addressing the disgraceful and unacceptable situation the aviation sector is currently facing in light of the coronavirus crisis.  We stated that at this critical time we should all be doing what we can to avoid an upsurge of COVID-19 in the civil aviation sector, and asked EASA to oblige all civil aviation authorities to ensure that all airlines apply AT LEAST minimum health measures, which is not currently the case.  EASA has responded saying that they believe that the concerns we raise can be monitored and acted upon in case of any shortcomings. They are carrying out regular reviews and evaluations of the feedback received from the industry in order to achieve optimal mitigation of risks to public health.
