Subject: European cabin crew attestation
Dear Mr Ky,
Thank you for your reply dated 07/09/2021 regarding the status of UK issued cabin crew attestations.
It turns out that cabin crew based in France holding a UK CCA, issued before 01/01/2016, are no longer recognized by the French DGAC and are no longer allowed to fly since 01/11/2021 while these same Cabin Crews have fulfilled with the operator specific training and checking in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 and also demonstrate medical fitness before undertaking flight duties with an EU operator.
According to the French DGAC, these Cabin Crews have to retake a CCA training and exam in order to get their attestation back while they have been flying since brexit became official on 01/01/2021.
The French DGAC had no information to give them at the beginning of 2021 and the operators continued to let them fly as cabin crews.
EurECCA asks EASA to intervene with the French DGAC in order to lift this date of 01/01/2016 which would correspond to the 60 months of validation of the CCA without flying what is not the case of these Cabin Crew.
