The European Commission has appointed Ricardo Energy & Environment (ee.ricardo.com) to carry out a study to explore the employment and working conditions of aircrews in the European and international aviation market. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the different forms of employment of aircrews, clarify the nature and extent of use of atypical forms of employment and their implications on working conditions.
It should also help understand how the existing EU and national social rules cover the activities of aircrews and identify any legal challenges in protecting this category of highly mobile workers.
This survey targets cabin crew working for EEA-licensed airlines operating in the European Economic Area (EEA) and beyond. It includes questions asking for information and views in relation to key issues that are relevant to the study. Both EEA and non-EEA nationals are covered by the survey.
The deadline for responses is on Thursday 3rd May 2018.
